• Familial adenomatous polyposis - 800 mg per day, split into two 400 mg doses.

With the exception of menstrual pain and acute pain, treatment tends to be long term. If taken long term, regular doctor exams are strongly advised to make sure no serious adverse reactions are developing. Some side effects, such as high blood pressure, may present no symptoms at all and will only be detected with regular checkups.
